Company Named a 'Representative Vendor' Among Cloud Service Providers for Healthcare Companies
CHARLOTTE, NC --(Marketwired - March 21, 2016) - Peak 10, Inc., a national IT infrastructure and cloud services provider, announced today it was recognized as a Representative Vendor in the Gartner October 2015 Market Guide for Cloud Service Providers to Healthcare Delivery Organizations. The report offers guidance for healthcare CIOs in helping them understand the developing cloud market, where it is heading and recognizes notable cloud service providers.
According to Gartner, "to become more effective and remain competitive, healthcare delivery organizations (HDOs) will transform themselves into Real-time Healthcare Systems (RTHSs) during the next five to 10 years. They will optimize their clinical and business processes, and enhance and extend their IT infrastructures to operate in real time and more collaboratively across all care venues. As an RTHS, the healthcare provider will expand its use of automation, analytics, location- and condition-sensing, event-driven technologies, interoperability, and mobility."

"In 2015, Peak 10 conducted a national study of approximately 150 US healthcare organizations and found that many of the pressures they were feeling around rising costs and risks associated with downtime, security lapses and compliance violations made a compelling argument for them to embrace a HIPAA compliant cloud," said David Kidd, vice president of governance, risk and compliance for Peak 10. "We believe the Gartner report further validates this notion."
Kidd adds, "We were glad to be included in Gartner's Market Guide for Cloud Service Providers to Healthcare Delivery Organizations, as a large portion of our customer base is made up of healthcare companies. In fact, Peak 10 is among the largest cloud service providers for healthcare companies based on the number of signed business associate agreements (BAAs)."
Peak 10's portfolio of cloud services is structured to ease the burden on customers seeking compliance, specifically in regard to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Security Rule. Employing industry-recognized security standards, Peak 10's cloud features multiple layers of protection to help keep electronic protected health information (ePHI) and other sensitive data secure, limit access to it and to monitor, defend against and mitigate cyber assaults and threats.
Peak 10 was among the first in the industry to undergo the assessment for HIPAA compliance for both cloud computing and colocation. The company continues to stay abreast of changing regulations and security needs, and its customers have access to its annual audit report of healthcare information privacy controls (AT 101) for data center operations.
Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., Peak 10 operates 27 data centers in key U.S. markets and serves a diverse range of customers in the U.S. and abroad.
